Kinder FAQ

We are a small, dedicated team of specialised children, event & family portrait photographers that work with schools, universities, daycare centres, kindergartens, clubs, workplaces and other organisations. We use state-of-the-art equipment and editing software and our team are well-trained and experienced, which means we are able to capture beautiful, high-resolution photos every time.

We service Australia Wide.  We have photographers in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Darwin, Adelaide & Perth.

If you want to have a chat about our services or book a session at your centre, club or organisation, call or email us directly. Our office hours are Monday, Wed, Friday - 9.30am to 2.30pm.

We specialise in natural, candid photography capture. This means that our shots are generally very natural and personalised for the individual being photographed.

At kindergartens and childcare centres, we try to capture children doing things that they enjoy and interacting freely.  We will work both inside and outdoors to capture children playing and doing the activities that they love most.

We usually take around 8-14 photos per child.  Sometimes there is more.

We will find out in advance if there are siblings and always make an effort to capture them together.

Yes we do! Just let us know in advance the number of groups and staff members so that we can coordinate it on the day.

Generally we do an organised group photo for kinder age children.  Younger age groups - group photos are supplied as a montage.

We provide complimentary staff photos (in digital format or print) to all schools, childcare centres and kindergartens.

Our online ordering system is easy-to-use and offers a variety of options for everyone. Just follow the steps below to register and purchase prints:

  1. Your Online Ordering Portal will open approx. 3 weeks before your photo shoot. We will send you a unique password (via your centre or club) so that you can register your details and create a protected, online gallery where we will post your photos.  Once you have received your code, log in here.
  2. You will receive an email, SMS or letter from us 2-4 weeks after the photo shoot to let you know that your photos have been uploaded. Log in again using your email address and password (that you created in step 1).
  3. Once you are logged in you will be able to view all of your photos, browse the products and packages and make your final purchases. Don't forget that the photos and layout of each of the packages can be altered by dragging photos from the left-hand column into the template that you have selected.

If you don't register online before the event, you will still be able to participate in the photo sessions. As you won't have an online account, we will send a proof sheet/  online code to your centre so you have a chance to register again.

Once you have viewed the proof sheet, you will still need to register online in order to place an order. Just use the unique password that you were assigned to register and log in here.

If you lose the unique password that you received for pre-registration, give us a call on (03) 9001 5820 and we will provide you with a new one.

Photos can make a wonderful Christmas gift for loved-ones. To ensure that your photos are delivered before December 25th, orders must be placed by December 1st.

Our website accepts bank transfers and all credit cards. Paying through the online portal is fast and secure. If you have any payment questions or concerns, please contact us by phone or email.

We do edit the photos for colour and exposure but we won't edit out spots, dirt, etc. We know that children do get dirty so we prefer to shoot at childcare centres and kindergartens in the morning when they are the most fresh-faced and ask that staff and parents do their best to help the children stay clean or wipe faces before the photo shoot.

Further editing can be provided for a fee by directly contacting Class Act Photography.

That is completely up to you or your centre. We use first-class equipment so we are always able to create photos with clear and vibrant colours.

If you are a parent, we do ask you to consider the outfit that your child will be wearing on the day of the photos. These photos may be used for gifts, wall displays or as life-long keepsakes so try to avoid outfits that clash, that are stained or that your child feels uncomfortable in. You want a happy, relaxed child on photo day so think about clothing that they like, that they are able to play in and that won't show too vividly any unfortunate marks that appear on the day.

If students, club members or dancers have special uniforms or costumes that they want to wear, we recommend putting them on closer to the shoot or wearing something over the top prior to the photography session so that outfits stay clean and neat.

We do not recommend elaborate makeup or hairstyles except when it is appropriate for dance and theatre groups. Comfortable and natural is preferable for candid family and children's photography.

Yes.  You can purchase a digital download pack of high resolution photos of your child.  If you buy one of our discount packages, you will be offered to purchase the digital files at a reduced rate.  Unfortunately we cannot offer single file purchases.

We do complementary delivery to your centre or school if ordering within the first 2 weeks.  Otherwise we have an option for home delivery ($12 fee).  You can order at anytime - you keep your login and gallery forever.

Yes. All our photographers have current Police Checks and Working with Children Checks.

Yes. Our Public Liability Insurance is up to $20,000,000.
